『EPDriveV3』はその名の通りEchoplexのプリアンプサウンドをベースに設計されたドライブペダルです。
独立したプリアンプ/ブーストチャンネルとドライブチャンネルを持つ２チャンネルペダルです。
海外の有名機材レビュアーのBrettKingman等も絶賛している大注目ペダル！
レジェンド達もこぞって愛用するEchoplexのプリアンプサウンドは、今や一般のギタリストにも浸透したサウンドの一つです。
EPDriveV3のプリアンプチャンネルはそんなEchoplexでも比較的初期のプリアンプサウンドを再現しているように感じます。初期型のサウンドは低域がタイトで中高域がプッシュされたサウンドが特徴と言われており、このペダルはまさにそのサウンド。
絶妙に前に出てくるこのサウンドは、クランチさせたのアンプやペダルのブーストにもってこい。
またそれと同時に絶妙なコンプ感も見え隠れしており、多くのギタリストが愛したサウンドを的確に再現しています。
本家同様に内部で昇圧しており、高いヘッドルームを有しているのも特徴の一つです。ブースト量は最大15dbと必要十分。
また内部のスイッチによってプリアンプ部分のハイカット機能も備えており、シングルコイルで高域がきついと感じる場合等は、オンにすることでさらなるサウンドの追い込みが可能です。
ドライブチャンネルは上記のプリアンプサウンドをベースとしつつ、よりヴァーサタイルで普遍的なドライブサウンドとなっています。
ゲインレンジはローゲインからミドル程度で単体でのドライブとしても十分なゲイン量。
滑らかで太く芯があり、なおかつ非常に分離感のあるサウンドが秀逸。
非対称クリッピング回路ならではのアンプライクでタッチレスポンスにも優れており、昇圧による高ヘッドルームも相まって、音楽的で心強いドライブサウンドが生み出されます。
