Detailed -Denver Military 1:48 Scale 1941-1945 CCKW-353 Army Cargo Truck Deuce and a Half - New in Box (NIB)! This listing is for Menard's Denver Military CCKW*353 GMC Army Cargo Truck， commonly called Deuce and a Half or just plain Deuce. It is 1/48 scale and has lots of detail. The canvas top and the benches in the bed can be removed. The undercarriage shows a ton of detail including the frame， front and rear suspension systems， the transfer case with three drive shafts to each of the three drive axles， the bottom of the engine and transmission， the front mounted winch， and a spare tire. The exterior has blacked out tail lights， and head lights. Most of the truck is plastic， but I think the cab is diecast， but I did not take it apart to find out for sure. It has been said that amateurs study tactics， while professionals study logistics. You can have the largest army in the world， but if it can’t get food， ammo， medical supplies， or fuel when needed， disaster will result. The Second World War was epic in scale and a vast industrial base supplied the Allies. One of the greatest weapons in the arsenal of victory was the venerable "Deuce and a half" truck! More than a half million of these vehicles were produced and offered in a variety of versions ranging from open bed cargo trucks， to communications vans， and wreck recovery vehicles. In Europe， with a heavily damaged railway network， they were essential in resupplying advancing Allied forces and the Red Ball Express earned fame as a round the clock land train moving vital material to fighting forces. The heritage of rugged， battle-proven reliability lives on with the contemporary M-35 series of vehicles. The Deuce and a half is a terrific addition to your fleet of O gauge military fleet!
