S2シリーズは、PRSが持つギター製造のスキルや経験、細部への拘りをよりシンプルかつストレートに表現したデザインで、2013年に誕生しました。S2 Custom 24を含む3つのラインナップから始まったこのシリーズには、この10年でトータル10種類以上ものモデルが加わりました。 そして、今回の10th Anniversary S2 Custom 24は、S2シリーズの誕生10周年を祝うのにふさわしい特別なモデルに仕上がりました。

このS2 Custom 24では、メイプルトップ、マホガニーバック、25インチスケール、24フレット、パターン・シン・ネック、PRS特許のモールド・トレモロといった基本的なスペックは従来のモデルを踏襲しつつ、アニヴァーサリーモデルの特別な仕様として、ネックにはキューバン・マホガニーを採用し、マザー・オブ・パールのバード・インレイが施され、USA製85/15ピックアップが搭載されています。

PRSはサウンドやデザイン含め、ピックアップの研究に膨大な時間を費やしてきましたが、今回TCIプロセスを経て搭載されるピックアップは、ペダルボードを駆使したサウンドメイキングを主に行う場合、または直接アンプにプラグインした場合、そのどちらにおいても、芳醇かつ透明感のあるバランスのとれたサウンドを創出します。
また、USA製の85/15ピックアップが、S2のラインナップにおいて1ヴォリューム、1トーン、5wayブレードスイッチの組み合わせと共にS2シリーズに搭載されるのは今回が初となります。
※プッシュ/プル・トーン・コントロール付きの3ウェイ・スイッチとはサウンド・ヴァリエーションが異なります。

10th Anniversary S2 Custom 24は、1，000本のみの限定生産となります。

メリーランド州のStevensvilleにあるPRSのファクトリー内に作られた２番目の生産ライン "Stevensville 2"という意味で名付けられ、新たな製造方法を卓越した品質管理と製造技術と組み合わせて新たな価格帯のラインナップとして稼働を開始したS2シリーズは、この10年でビジネス規模が大きく成長し、現在は製造過程の一部がCoreモデルとBolt-Onモデルの生産ラインに統合されています。
